The Hands Behind the Work

A lifetime among the branches.

Richard started climbing trees at twelve years old — not for a paycheck, but because he couldn't stay on the ground. Over thirty years later, he still feels that pull every morning. What began as a boyhood obsession became a lifelong craft, grounded in the old methods and the old work ethic.

Today, Passion For Trees is known throughout Central Connecticut for handling the jobs other services can't — or won't. Hazardous removals, precision pruning, structural cabling, and the kind of careful, knowledgeable tree care that only comes from decades in the field.

Credentials That Matter

What Is an Arborist?

Arborists are tree care professionals who can help with the selection, maintenance, care, and removal of trees and shrubs in residential, commercial, and public landscapes. They are trained in all aspects of woody plant health and care — including diagnosis and treatment of diseases, insect infestations, and environmental problems.

They can safely climb up into tall trees to prune limbs, and will cut, chip, and remove all of the brush. They can recommend watering, fertilizing, pesticide applications, and other cultural programs to help maintain the long-term health and beauty of landscapes.

Arborists are licensed by the State of Connecticut, and are required to stay up-to-date with the rapid advances of tree biology, care, and treatment.

Please don't hire your "brother-in-law with a chainsaw" — or your landscaper that is not a licensed arborist — to even prune your trees. Tree work is dangerous. The person holding the saw should carry a license and the experience to match.

In the Field

"Nothing can compare to the in the field experience for 21 years!" — Richard
